The year that’s been: 2021

2021 was another challenging year! Yet here we are on the other side, stronger than before.

Looking back at the year that’s been:

COVID hasn’t stopped us from keeping everyone engaged.  Webinars, online activities and resources, and teleCTVs supported registrars in training, along with the usual remote supervision and support from the admin and education teams.

April saw the 21.1 workshop remain in the virtual space with more than 20 live sessions delivered with registrars, supervisors and facilitators engaging in thought provoking skill development. The presentation of interesting topics provided opportunities to continue the learning journey and to learn from each other.

In November the COVID challenge continued and so the workshop once again was delivered via the virtual space to allow participants to collaborate, communicate and engage.

The exam prep Bootcamps and supervisor workshops also leveraged the virtual space to provide opportunities to learn and grow independently and collaboratively.

Although we all really miss face to face workshops, we have still had multiple opportunities to connect with and support each other no matter what COVID restrictions are in play.

We continue to be inspired by how the RVTS registrars, supervisors and staff have responded and flourished in such challenging and uncertain circumstances.

Looking ahead to 2022: it’s shaping up to be another challenging but exciting year. The training year commences at the end of January, with webinars kicking off early Feb, an orientation workshop planned for later that month, and we’re looking forward to the prospect of (hopefully) a F2F workshop in April.

We’re also very pleased to advise that RVTS has extended our current agreement with the Commonwealth for the delivery of our program through to mid 2025.

This means that RVTS will continue to provide our much-valued GP and Rural Generalist Fellowship training in the years ahead.

And with that good news, we wish you all a restful, peaceful and safe Festive Season, and all the best for 2022.

Here are some memories from the last 12 months (3min 46 sec):

See you in 2022!
