Self care during a pandemic.

We’ve reached May in a year that will certainly go down in history!

It’s been a tough year to be a GP in Australia with many challenges indeed!

How are you coping? How are you looking after yourself?

This month, 2 of our RVTS registrars, Leigh-Anne Bingham and Jeni Davila Mendez, discuss self care. Leigh-Ann and Jeni give some specific advice on how to do this during a pandemic.

These include:

  • Acknowledge that anxiety and fear in the current situation are perfectly normal.
  • Take some control of the inflow of information.
  • Maintain social contact.
  • Make time to relax.
  • Stay active.
  • Practice mindfulness with deep breathing and grounding exercises
  • Ask for help if you need to

    • Haha
      I’m with you Taras.
I’ve had lots of outside fresh air with deep breathing and relaxing walks but on my return there just seems to be more clutter!
