We’ve reached May in a year that will certainly go down in history!
It’s been a tough year to be a GP in Australia with many challenges indeed!
How are you coping? How are you looking after yourself?
This month, 2 of our RVTS registrars, Leigh-Anne Bingham and Jeni Davila Mendez, discuss self care. Leigh-Ann and Jeni give some specific advice on how to do this during a pandemic.
These include:
- Acknowledge that anxiety and fear in the current situation are perfectly normal.
- Take some control of the inflow of information.
- Maintain social contact.
- Make time to relax.
- Stay active.
- Practice mindfulness with deep breathing and grounding exercises
- Ask for help if you need to

Practical, sensible advice!
I picked out “decluttering” as an activity I could undertake. I did the deep breathing but nothing happened with the clutter 😉
Haha
I’m with you Taras.
I’ve had lots of outside fresh air with deep breathing and relaxing walks but on my return there just seems to be more clutter!
Well done, a great podcast!
Thank you.
